Cosmo Warrior Zero was an action and science-fiction anime series that was first released in 2001. The story was set in a future where humanity had accepted peace with mechanical invaders after a period of lawlessness and oppression in deep space. The protagonist, Warrius Zero, was a mercenary captain who had lost his family during the war for Earth. Despite serving the mechanized victors, Zero was assigned a mission to track down a notorious space pirate, Harlock, across the universe.
