The show was a drama and family series based on the classic novel, which was first broadcast in 1968. It told the story of a family who moved to "Three Chimneys" near the railway after the father, working at the Foreign Office, was falsely accused of spying. The children befriended an Old Gentleman who regularly traveled on the 9:15 train near their home; he eventually helped to prove their father's innocence, leading to the family's reunion.
The cast included Ann Castle as Mother, Jenny Agutter as Roberta Faraday, Neil McDermott as Peter Faraday, Gillian Bailey as Phyllis Faraday, Gordon Gostelow as Perks, Brian Hayes as Stationmaster, and John Ringham as Dr. Forrest.
