S-CRY-Ed was an anime series that premiered in 2001. It was a science-fiction action drama set in a world transformed by a devastating earthquake that created The Lost Ground, a region inhabited by alter users—individuals with psychic powers to change matter. The series followed Kazuma, a native alter user with the ability to turn his right arm and torso into a metallic alloy, as he navigated the lawless land and its conflicts involving the special police force, HOLD, and the anti-alter unit, HOLY.

The cast included Hikaru Midorikawa as Ryuhou, Souichirou Hoshi as Kazuma, Kyousei Tsukui as Straight Cougar, Masayo Kurata as Sherrice Adjani, Takumi Yamazaki as Kunihiko, Yukari Tamura as Kanami Yuta, and Yuko Nagashima as Mimori Kiryuu.
