The show was a historical action anime set during the Meiji Era in Japan. It told the story of Kenshin Himura, a former assassin known as Battousai, who seeks to leave his violent past behind and live peacefully. The series depicted his travels and encounters as he tried to maintain peace in a Japan still haunted by its civil war past, often involving sword fights and conflicts with survivors of the revolution.

The cast included Mayo Suzukaze as Kenshin Himura, Miki Fujitani as Kaoru Kamiya, and Yuji Ueda as Sanosuke Sagara. The series was rated 7.3 on TVMaze and each episode had a runtime of approximately 25 minutes.
