R.O.D the TV was an action-adventure anime series that followed the story of three girls, Anita, Michelle, and Maggie, who were hired to protect Japanese author Nenene Sumiregawa during her stay in Hong Kong. The series was set in the early 2000s and depicted their adventures as they discovered their ability to control paper, an ability linked to Nenene's long-lost friend Yomiko Readman. After an incident involving a disgruntled author, the Paper Sisters moved to Japan and became Nenene's freeloading bodyguards, navigating various challenges along the way.
The main cast included Satsuki Yukino as Nenene Sumiregawa, Hiromi Hirata as Maggie Mui, Shoko Kikuchi as Michelle Cheung, and Chiwa Saito as Anita King. The series had a runtime of approximately 30 minutes per episode.
