Blood+ was an anime series that first premiered on October 8, 2005. It was set in a world where a ongoing war between monsters called Chiropterans and an organization known as the Red Shield was central to the plot. The story followed Otonashi Saya, a high-school girl who lived a peaceful life with her family, unaware of her past beyond the previous year. Her life changed dramatically after a series of events that revealed her true destiny and her connection to the supernatural conflict.
The show featured a cast led by Eri Kitamura as Saya Otonashi, with Akiko Yajima playing Diva, and Katsuyuki Konishi as Hagi. Other main characters included Hōchū Ōtsuka as George Miyagusuku and Hiroyuki Yoshino as Kai Miyagusuku. Blood+ was rated 7.2 on TVMaze and each episode had a runtime of approximately 22 minutes.
