Doraemon was a Japanese anime series that premiered on April 1, 1973. It was a comedy, adventure, and science-fiction show centered around Nobita Nobi, a hapless boy whose 22nd-century descendants remain impoverished due to his earlier misadventures. To help Nobita improve his social standing, a robotic cat named Doraemon was sent back in time to guide him. However, Doraemon, a dysfunctional robot accidentally acquired by the family, often led Nobita into various adventures, making his life more exciting but not necessarily better as Doraemon had intended.

The series featured voice actors such as Kousei Tomita as Doraemon, Masako Ebisu as Shizuka, and Yoshiko Ôta as Nobita. The show had a runtime of approximately 30 minutes per episode, and though it only aired for one season, it remains one of the longest-running TV series in Japan, known for its humorous and imaginative stories.
