The story was set in a dystopian future where a devastating earthquake destroyed much of Tokyo, and it followed the life of Ganta Igarashi, a middle school student who was falsely accused of a massacre at his school. Sentenced to life imprisonment in a brutal, theme-park-like prison, Ganta's life changed dramatically after he was marked with a red crystal shard embedded in his chest by a mysterious figure. The series explored themes of survival, justice, and the dark side of human nature.
The show starred Romi Park as Ganta Igarashi and Kana Hanazawa as Shiro. It has a rating of 7.4 on TVMaze and each episode had a runtime of approximately 25 minutes.
