Star Trek
originally aired on NBC
Gene Roddenberry created a science-fiction television series in 1964. It followed the adventures of the starship USS Enterprise (NCC-1701) and its crew. The show acquired the retronym of Star Trek: The Original Series (TOS) to distinguish the show within the media franchise that it began. Star Trek aired on NBC from September 8, 1966, to June 3, 1969. It was canceled after three seasons and 79 episodes.
