Each episode began with a live-action segment featuring Beatrix Potter, portrayed by Niamh Cusack, as she arrived at her farmhouse, either after painting or shopping, and sat down to tea with her pet rabbit, Peter, before telling the story.
The series was aimed at children and featured stories centered around Peter Rabbit and other anthropomorphic animals created by Potter. It brought to life many of her classic tales through animation, with a focus on charming storytelling and visual adaptation of her beloved characters. The show had a runtime of approximately 30 minutes per episode.
