The series was a children's fantasy adaptation of John Masefield's classic story, first broadcast in 1984. It followed the adventures of Kay Harker, who encounters a mysterious Punch and Judy man that gives him a magical box. This box transported Kay into a variety of fantastic worlds where he met ancient heroes, wolves, Romans, rats, and experienced flying ponies and flashing rings.
