The Globetrotters received their missions from a talking, basketball-themed satellite called the Crime Globe. Most episodes involved the team challenging villains and their henchmen to basketball games to recover treasures or devices.

The show starred actors such as Scatman Crothers as Fluid Man/Nate Branch, Stu Gilliam as Super Sphere/Freddie "Curly" Neal, and Buster Jones as Spaghetti Man/James "Twiggy" Sanders. Michael Rye provided narration, voiced the basketball announcer, Lighting Man, the Mayor of Breadbasket City, and Whaleman. The series had a rating of 7.3 on TVMaze and each episode ran for 30 minutes.
