The series was an action-packed anime that aired in 2001. It followed the story of Kyosuke Date, who was suddenly stabbed by his mother and left for dead in a cathedral. He was buried alive but was soon dug up by a mysterious girl. As he searched for answers about why his mother attacked him, he also looked for a long-lost sister and tried to understand his ability to transform into a superhuman mutant called the Soul Taker.
The show was a blend of horror, science fiction, and action genres, set in the early 2000s. It was a single-season series that explored themes of identity, revenge, and supernatural powers through Kyosuke's journey and struggles after the traumatic event.
