The series was a drama, action, and crime story set in London during the late 1980s. It followed Carl Galton, a 24-year-old gangster who sought wealth and status through ruthless means. After his brother's death in an East-End bar brawl, Carl shifted his focus from North London protection rackets to challenging the old-school East-End crime factions, using any methods necessary to establish dominance.

The cast included Iain Glen as Carl Galton, Susannah Harker as Linda, Jesse Birdsall as Marty, Anthony Valentine as Tony Slater, Jerome Flynn as Freddie, Denis Lill as George Klein, Sam Smart as Jo-Jo, and Stephen Persaud as Russell. Its runtime was approximately 50 minutes per episode.
