The series was a drama, action, and crime show that aired in 1979. It followed Oscar "Duke" Ramsey, a former professional boxer who decided to leave the fight game behind and open a restaurant in Chicago. When his partner and trainer Benny was murdered, Duke chose to pursue justice himself, despite the objections of Chicago police detective Mick O'Brien. His investigations led him to track down and bring the killers to justice, after which he decided to become a private investigator.
The cast included Robert Conrad as Oscar "Duke" Ramsey, Larry Manetti as Joe Cadillac, Red West as Sgt. Mick O'Brien, and Patricia Conwell as Dedra Smith.
