Set during Japan's Taisho Era (1912-1926), the series was a mix of drama, comedy, and adventure in the anime genre. It was about a scientist named Ayanokoji who created the Steel Angel Kurumi, an artificial humanoid with extraordinary abilities. When a young boy named Nakahito Kagura discovered Kurumi's lifeless body and was caught in a sudden attack by the Imperial Army, Kurumi came back to life following a mysterious kiss, setting off a series of events that explored themes of technology, humanity, and friendship.
The cast included Houko Kuwashima as Nakahito Kagura, Masayo Kurata as Karinka, Atsuko Enomoto as Kurumi, and Rie Tanaka as Saki.
