The series is an action-packed anime that first premiered on October 7, 2020. It was set in a fantasy world torn by a centuries-long conflict among the Empire, the Mechanical Utopia, and the Nebulis Sovereignty, a land of witches. The story followed Iska, the "Successor of Black Steel," and Aliceliese, the "Ice Calamity Witch," whose meeting set the stage for a tale of contrasting ideals. Iska, a peace-loving warrior, sought to end the war with his inherited twin swords, while Aliceliese aimed to destroy the Empire and unify the world under her sovereignty. Their interactions and differing visions drove the narrative through themes of conflict and hope.

The cast includes Sora Amamiya as Aliceliese Lou Nebulis IX, Yusuke Kobayashi as Iska, and Aya Hisakawa as Millavair Lou Nebulis VIII, among others.
