My Boss, My Hero was a comedy and drama series that premiered in July 2006. It followed Sakaki Makio, a tough 27-year-old high school dropout who is forced by his father to return to high school to earn his diploma. To keep his position as boss, Makio must pose as a 17-year-old student and maintain his cover while navigating school life. The series depicted his struggles with a violent temper and the challenges of fitting into a school environment, ultimately revealing that there was more to school than just tests and studying.
The cast included Tomoya Nagase as Makio Sakaki, Yu Kashii as Yuriko Minami, Chiaki Horan as Yukari Tendo, and Yui Aragaki as Hikari Umemura. The show had a runtime of approximately 54 minutes per episode.
