It was set during the construction of the Kurobe Dam, where an ancient artifact was discovered, leading to the establishment of the United Nations Kurobe Research Institute. The story focused on the children of researchers, including Yukina Shirahane, as they encountered a lone samurai awakening in the summer of 2016.
