It was a comedy and action series centered around Takumi Fujiwara, a young man who secretly raced on mountain roads in his modified AE86 Sprinter Trueno. The story focused on his encounters with various racing teams and his rise as a skilled driver, set against the backdrop of street racing culture in Japan.
The series featured a cast including Crispin Freeman as Kouichiro "Cole" Iketani, Dave Wittenberg as Takumi Fujiwara, Unshō Ishizuka as Bunta Fujiwara, Mitsuo Iwata as Itsuki Takeuchi, Jason Spisak as Kenji, Kathryn Cressida as Natsuki "Natalie" Mogi, and Ayako Kawasumi as Natsuki Mogi.
