The series was a Japanese drama, comedy, and action show that first premiered on April 17, 2002. It followed the story of Kumiko "Yankumi" Yamaguchi, who became a math teacher at Shirokin high school. Despite her initial struggles, she managed to earn the respect of her delinquent students in class 3-D through her persistence and strength. Unbeknownst to many, Yankumi was also heir to the Oedo Group, a powerful yakuza clan, which added a layer of secret to her character.
The show was a three-season series with a total of 33 episodes, featuring actors such as Yukie Nakama as Yamaguchi Kumiko, Katsuhisa Namase as Goro Sawatari, Tomohiro Waki as Teruo Kumai, and Ken Utsui as Asakura Tetsu. The series had a rating of 6.8 on TVMaze and each episode had a runtime of approximately 54 minutes.
