Set in Tokyo in the year 198 of the Solar Era, Fire Force was a Japanese action anime series that premiered on July 5, 2019. The series depicted a world where special fire brigades fought against spontaneous human combustion, which turned humans into fiery Infernals. The story followed Shinra Kusakabe, a young firefighter with the ability to ignite his feet at will, as he joined the Special Fire Force Company 8. The show focused on their efforts to extinguish Infernals and uncover a conspiracy related to a mysterious fire that killed Shinra's family twelve years earlier.
The series featured a cast led by Gakuto Kajiwara as Shinra Kusakabe, with Kazuya Nakai, Yusuke Kobayashi, Kenichi Suzumura, M・A・O, Saeko Kamijō, and Aoi Yūki also starring. It was rated 7.5 on TVMaze and had a runtime of approximately 30 minutes per episode.
