It was inspired by true events and centered on a workplace comedy about the underdogs who accidentally created a superior Spanish version of the 1931 classic Dracula movie. While Bela Lugosi filmed by day, a separate cast and crew arrived at night to shoot the same film in Spanish, using the same sets, costumes, and a translated script. Working from dusk till dawn, they defied the odds and produced a version considered better than the original.

The show featured a cast led by Eugenio Derbez as Carlos Villarías, Yare Santana as Lupita Tovar, and Jason Alexander as Carl Laemmle. Sofía Niño de Rivera played Cecilia Ramírez, Diana Bovio portrayed Carmen Guerrero, Daniel Sosa was Jesús, and Manuel 'Flaco' Ibáñez appeared as Eduardo Arozamena.
