WordGirl ended on August 7, 2015. The show concluded after its eighth season on PBS.
WordGirl was a children's animated series that premiered in 2007. It followed Becky Botsford, an ordinary fifth-grader who transformed into the superhero WordGirl to fight misfit villains in The City using her vocabulary skills. The series combined comedy, action, and adventure elements, teaching vocabulary and problem-solving in each episode.
The show featured voice performances from Dannah Phirman as WordGirl, Ryan Raddatz as Mr. Botsford, Maria Bamford as Mrs. Botsford, Chris Parnell as the Narrator, Tom Kenny as Dr. Two Brains, and Fred Stoller as Chuck the Evil Sandwich-Making Guy. Each episode had a runtime of approximately 12 minutes.
