Is Wildside coming back?
Wildside (1985–1985) on ABC
About Wildside
Wildside ended on April 25, 1985, after its first season on ABC.
The show was a Western series that aired in 1985. It followed five outlaws who decided to turn their lives around and settle in California. One of them, J. Wendell Summerhayes, became the governor of California, while the other four, Brodie Hollister, Varges de la Cosa, Bannister Sparks, and Prometheus Jones, retired to the town of Wildside, CA, and became respectable businessmen. When trouble arose or Summerhayes needed assistance, the four men formed a "hunting party" and used their skills—such as sharp shooting, bolo- and knife-throwing, explosives, and lassos—to confront the bad guys. Brodie's son Sutton, an expert sharpshooter raised in the East, joined the group to help protect Wildside. Together, they acted as the town’s unofficial Chamber of Commerce, ready to defend their community from any threat.
The cast included William Smith as Brodie Hollister, J. Eddie Peck as Sutton Hollister, John D'Aquino as Varges de la Cosa, Howard E. Rollins Jr. as Bannister Sparks, and Terry Funk as Prometheus Jones. Supporting characters included Meg Ryan as Cally Oaks and Sandy McPeak as Governor J. Wendell Summerhayes.
