Is When The Hawthorn Blooms coming back?

When The Hawthorn Blooms ended on May 11, 2025, after its first season. The show aired its final episode on that date on Tencent QQ, a popular web channel. The series has concluded its story, and there are no announced plans for a second season at this time.

The series was a Chinese drama and romance set in the early 1970s. It centered around Jing Qiu, a girl from a family considered politically problematic, who was sent to the countryside for re-education. While documenting village history in Xicunping, she met Lao San, a talented and handsome young man. Their relationship faced numerous obstacles, including class stigma, family opposition, and social hierarchy, which challenged their promise to reunite under a hawthorn tree.

The series consisted of 18 episodes, each approximately 13 minutes long, and was broadcast in 2025.
