About When the Boat Comes In
When the Boat Comes In ended on April 21, 1981. The series originally aired on BBC One and was a British period-drama that ran from 1976 to 1981.
The show was set in the early 20th century and followed Jack Ford, a First World War veteran, as he returned to his impoverished hometown of Gallowshield in the North East of England. It depicted the political struggles of the 1920s and 1930s and examined how national and international politics affected Ford and his community.
