Weeds was a comedy-drama series that premiered in 2005. It was based on the life of Nancy Botwin, an American widow with two children, who began selling cannabis to make ends meet after her husband's death. The show depicted her family's increasing involvement in illegal activities as the series progressed, blending elements of crime and dark humor.

The cast included Mary-Louise Parker as Nancy Botwin, Hunter Parrish as Silas Botwin, and Alexander Gould as Shane Botwin. Other main actors were Kevin Nealon, Justin Kirk, Elizabeth Perkins, Andy Milder, and Allie Grant.
