The story followed Silk Koharuno and her friends who, during a monster attack, were accidentally crushed by the city's protector, UFO-man. Feeling remorseful, UFO-man vowed to revive them using his powers, transforming them into the city's new protectors.
As a series that aired in early 2005, Ultimate Girls was a short-format anime that blended humor and science-fiction elements. It played with genre conventions and included comedic and fantastical themes centered around the girls' new roles as heroes after their resurrection.
