The truth is that he's suffering from an unexplained disease that causes him to travel back in time whenever he experiences sudden, intense emotions. It was Meguru who brought him solace from his suffering. But then, on the day of their wedding anniversary, Meguru falls to her death down the emergency stairs at her workplace.
