The White Circle was a drama series set in 1949-1950, in Moscow and a prison-laboratory in the town of Marfino. It was based on the autobiographical book by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn and depicted the life of Gleb Nerzhin, a mathematician who was arrested and imprisoned in a secret research prison called a "Sharashka." The series explored his involvement in a research program supervised by Stalin, including the making of a telephone bug.
The show starred Евгений Миронов as Gleb Нержин. It was a single-season series with a total of 10 episodes, each approximately 45 minutes long.
