The War was a seven-part documentary series that aired in 2007, directed and produced by Ken Burns and Lynn Novick. It told the story of the Second World War through the personal accounts of men and women from four American towns: Mobile, Alabama; Sacramento, California; Waterbury, Connecticut; and Luverne, Minnesota. The series used interviews and archive footage to explore the human dimensions of the war, highlighting the bravery, endurance, and sacrifice of the generation of Americans who lived through it.
