The show was a drama series set in the 1930s, focusing on the efforts of law enforcement agents to combat organized crime led by Al Capone. It portrayed the team of incorruptible US Treasury agents led by Eliot Ness as they worked to take down the notorious crime boss and his associates during the Prohibition era.
The cast included Tom Amandes as Eliot Ness, William Forsythe as Al Capone, David James Elliott as Agent Paul Robbins, Paul Regina as Frank Nitti, John Newton as Agent Tony Pagano, John Rhys-Davies as Agent Michael Malone, Hynden Walch as Mae Capone, and Nancy Everhard as Catherine Ness.
