The Testaments is a drama and science-fiction series that premiered on April 8, 2026. It is based on Margaret Atwood's Booker Prize-winning novel of the same name, which was published in 2019. The series is set in the dystopian theocracy of Gilead and continues the story years after the events of The Handmaid's Tale. It follows a new generation of young women in Gilead as they navigate their bleak future, often without memories of the outside world, and face the challenges of growing up in a society that seeks to control and indoctrinate them.
