The series was a drama that followed psychologist David McKay as he helped runaways from troubled homes rebuild their lives. The story focused on McKay's efforts to assist young people in difficult circumstances, with support from his girlfriend Karen Wingate and two former runaways, Mark Johnson and Susan Donovan, whom he adopted.
