The Polar Bear Family & Me ended on January 10, 2013, on BBC Two. The show aired over a span of four days, from January 7 to January 10, 2013, concluding its single-season run.

The series was a nature and family documentary that followed wildlife cameraman Gordon Buchanan as he tracked a wild polar bear family in the Arctic. During the three episodes, Gordon traveled to Svalbard with arctic survival experts, locating a polar bear den and meeting mother Lyra and her cubs Miki and Luca. The program provided a rare glimpse into the lives of polar bears, as no one had previously been able to follow them so closely. Gordon also assisted scientists in fitting Lyra with a tracking collar and tested a special 'bear proof' filming hide called the 'Ice Cube' to observe the bears more safely.
