Is The Piano coming back?

The Piano is currently in between seasons. The most recent episode aired on March 15, 2026, and no return date has been announced.

This Australian music series, which premiered on May 4, 2025, on ABC TV and ABC iview, was a six-part arts program that explored the transformative power of the piano in people's lives. Hosted by Amanda Keller, the show featured everyday Australians performing at unique locations across the country, turning public spaces into impromptu concert halls. Unbeknownst to the performers, they were being observed by renowned musicians Harry Connick, Jr. and Andrea Lam, who selected one pianist from each location to mentor for a final performance at the Sydney City Recital Hall. The series showcased a variety of musical styles, from classical pieces to contemporary hits, highlighting the diverse stories behind each performer’s connection to the piano.

The series aimed to share the passion for piano playing and personal stories about how the instrument has impacted lives. The participants performed a wide range of music, including Bach, Beethoven, INXS, and Taylor Swift, in front of live audiences and viewers alike. The show featured a cast of talented mentors and performers, with performances lasting approximately 54 minutes.
