About The Lieutenant
The Lieutenant ended on April 18, 1964. The show aired its final episode on that date on CBS, after its single season. It was a drama series set in the United States Marine Corps at Camp Pendleton during the Cold War era.
The series was about the lives of Marines during peacetime, focusing on Second Lieutenant William Tiberius Rice, a young and idealistic officer who had recently graduated from the Naval Academy. The show depicted his experiences as a rifle platoon leader and training instructor, as well as his interactions with his mentor and commanding officers. It explored themes of military life, leadership, and personal growth within the context of the Marine Corps.
The cast included Gary Lockwood as Lt. William Rice, Robert Vaughn as Captain Raymond Rambridge, Don Penny as Lt. Stanley Harris, and Carmen Phillips as Lily. The series did not have a rated score on TVMaze and each episode ran approximately 60 minutes.
