About The Famous Five
The Famous Five ended on February 16, 1997, after its two-season run on ITV1. Based on the best-selling books by Enid Blyton, The Famous Five was a family adventure series that premiered in 1995. It followed the adventures of Julian, Dick, and Anne as they stayed with their Aunt and Uncle in the English countryside. The series focused on their interactions with their rebellious cousin Georgina, who preferred to be called George. The children often encountered mysterious happenings in their local area, which led them to team up to uncover secrets and stop a drug smuggling ring, with their loyal dog Timmy often by their side.
The cast included Jemima Rooper as George, Marco Williamson as Julian, Paul Child as Dick, and Laura Petela as Anne. The show was rated for a family audience and each episode lasted approximately 30 minutes.
