The series was based on the popular children's book series by Dav Pilkey and was a mix of action, comedy, and science-fiction. It followed two fourth-grade friends, George and Harold, who loved pranks and comic books. They created a superhero persona out of their principal, transforming him into Captain Underpants, a hero who fought various comical villains and adventures.
The cast included Nat Faxon as Captain Underpants and Mr. Krupp, Sean Astin as the narrator, Ramone Hamilton as George Beard, and Jorge Diaz as Melvin Sneedly. The show had a rating of 6.5 on TVMaze and each episode ran approximately 26 minutes.
