The series was a surreal drama and adventure thriller that was inspired by shows like 'The Avengers.' It followed a cast of unusual characters, including Kronk, a paternal CID agent; his henchmen Inspector Blood and Sergeant Hound; and Phil Scrotty, an American private eye who worshipped Bogart. Each episode featured them confronting the schemes of Syrie Van Epp, a treacherous Persian millionaireess. The show was produced by Granada Television for the ITV network and premiered in August 1966.
The episodes each had a runtime of approximately 60 minutes.
