The show was a fantasy, romance, and historical series that was inspired by an Oriental fairytale. It followed the romance between Ji Yunhe, a powerful demon master, and Chang Yi, a merman. Their relationship was initially based on control and being controlled, but through a series of conspiracies and misunderstandings, they overcame barriers between their worlds to become each other's salvation. The story explored themes of love and sacrifice within a setting where controlling monsters was permitted only in four locations under imperial rule.
The cast included Dilmurat Dilraba as Ji Yunhe and Allen Ren as Chang Yi. The series was produced with a runtime of 45 minutes per episode.
