The series was a British drama and crime show based on the book series by John Creasey, produced by ITC Entertainment in the mid-1960s. It followed John Mannering, an antiques dealer and undercover agent working for British intelligence, as he investigated jewel, art, and antiques-related mysteries. The show depicted Mannering as a straight character with no criminal past, contrasting with the original novels where he was a reformed jewel thief. The series also explored his background in the US Army’s Monuments, Fine Arts, and Archives program during World War II.
The cast included Steve Forrest as John "The Baron" Mannering and Sue Lloyd as Cordelia Winfield. The series had a runtime of 60 minutes per episode. Since the show has ended, it is no longer in production, and no new episodes are scheduled.
