Sweet Valley High was a drama and comedy series based on the best-selling book series. It centered around the lives of the Wakefield twins, Elizabeth and Jessica, and their friends. Although they were identical in appearance, the twins had very different personalities; Elizabeth was known for being everyone's best friend, while Jessica was manipulative and devious. The show initially focused on serious issues with little comedic relief but gradually adopted a lighter, more humorous tone as it progressed. Throughout its run, the series featured cast changes, but Brittany Daniel and Cynthia Daniel remained as the twins for all four seasons. The series also had a distinctive soundtrack, with original songs created specifically for the show, released in 1995.
