About Survivor Philippines
Survivor Philippines ended on February 19, 2012, after its fourth season on GMA Network.
The show was the Philippine adaptation of the international Survivor franchise, which originally debuted as Expedition Robinson in 1997. It was a reality competition series where contestants were stranded in an isolated location and had to fend for themselves by gathering food, water, and shelter. Participants competed in challenges to earn rewards and immunity, with the goal of avoiding elimination by their peers. The last remaining contestant was awarded the title of Pinoy Sole Survivor and a grand prize of P3,000,000, making it one of the most lucrative Philippine reality shows of its time.
The series premiered on September 15, 2008, and was hosted initially by Paolo Bediones for the first two seasons. Richard Gutierrez took over as host from the third season onward. The show aired during primetime on GMA Network and was also broadcast internationally via GMA Pinoy TV, except in North America. The program was known for its competitive format and the unique challenge of survival in the wild, which kept viewers engaged over its four seasons. The series concluded with the declaration of the winner in 2012.
