Stephen ended on September 13, 2021, on ITV1. This three-part drama was a sequel to the 1999 series The Murder Of Stephen Lawrence and depicted events from 2006, thirteen years after the racially motivated murder of Stephen Lawrence. The series focused on his parents' ongoing fight for justice and the efforts of detective DCI Clive Driscoll to bring the perpetrators to account. It highlighted the persistent struggle for justice and the investigative process that eventually led to convictions more than 18 years after the crime. Set in London, the series portrayed the real-life story of Stephen Lawrence, who was murdered while waiting for a bus in 1993. It chronicled the initial failure of the police investigation, the subsequent public inquiry that exposed institutional racism within the Metropolitan Police, and the legal reforms that followed. The show provided a dramatized account of the Lawrences’ campaign for justice and the dedication of law enforcement officials who worked to finally secure convictions in 2006. The cast included Steve Coogan as DCI Clive Driscoll, Sharlene Whyte as Doreen Lawrence, and Hugh Quarshie as Neville Lawrence. The series had a rating of 6.4 on TVMaze and each episode ran for approximately 60 minutes.
