The show was a drama series that aired from 1981 to 1989, following the lives of two brothers working as private investigators in San Diego, California. Rick and AJ Simon had contrasting personalities—Rick was more laid back, while AJ was more business-like—and their cases took them across California, Hawai'i, and even France. The series focused on their partnership and friendship as they solved various mysteries.
The cast included Gerald McRaney as Rick Simon, Jameson Parker as AJ Simon, Mary Carver as Cecilia Simon, Jeannie Wilson as Janet Fowler, Eddie Barth as Myron Fowler, and Tim Reid as Detective Marcel "Downtown" Brown.
