Is Shining Time Station coming back?
Shining Time Station (1989–1996) — comedy · children · fantasy on PBS
About Shining Time Station
Shining Time Station ended on November 11, 1996, after its fifth season aired on PBS.
It was a children's television series that combined comedy and fantasy elements, set in a railroad station located in the Indian Valley. The show featured the station master Stacy Jones, and the station's engineer changed from Henry "Harry" Cupper in the first season to Billy Twofeathers in the second. An arcade with a jukebox was also part of the station's setting, owned by the humorous Schemer who enjoyed playing tricks on visitors. A notable character was Mr. Conductor, an 18-inch man who lived in a painting on the station wall. Originally played by Ringo Starr, Mr. Conductor was replaced by George Carlin, who portrayed his cousin and continued to tell stories about Thomas the Tank Engine from the Island of Sodor.
Shining Time Station was a family-friendly series that aired from January 29, 1989, to November 11, 1996. The show was designed to entertain children with stories and characters set against the backdrop of a railway station, blending live-action and storytelling.
