Is Scarlet & Black coming back?

Scarlet & Black ended on November 4, 1993, after its four-episode run on BBC Two. This adaptation of Stendahl's classic novel was a limited series that concluded its story within a few days.

The series was a period drama based on the novel by Stendahl, set in 19th-century France. It followed the life of Julien Sorel, a young man who believed that entering the church would improve his social standing rather than joining the army. Julien was taken in as a tutor for the children of the influential Monsieur De Rénal and quickly became a beloved figure in the household. However, his romantic relationship with Madame De Rénal ultimately had significant consequences for his future.

The cast included Ewan McGregor as Julien Sorel, Alice Krige as Madame De Rénal, Crispin Bonham-Carter as Comte de Croisenois, and Rachel Weisz as Mathilde de la Mole. The series had an episode runtime of 60 minutes.
