Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei was a satirical slice-of-life anime series that first premiered on July 7, 2007. It was a comedy set in modern Japan, focusing on Nozomu Itoshiki, a high school teacher whose extreme pessimism often led to exaggerated despair and even suicide attempts. The show used humor and satire to explore various aspects of Japanese culture and society through the interactions of Nozomu with his eccentric students, including recluse Kiri Komori, injured girl Abiru Kobushi, and the overly optimistic Kafuuka Fuura.
The cast included Ai Nonaka as Kafuka Fuura and Hiroshi Kamiya as Nozomu Itoshiki. Each episode had a runtime of approximately 25 minutes.
